Your Money Seniors – A Financial Literacy Program for Canadian Seniors
Your Money Seniors is a national financial literacy program for seniors. Modelled on the CBA’s highly successful Your Money Students program, this seminar program is offered in French and English, free of charge, to seniors’ groups across the country.
Your Money Seniors is presented by bankers in the community volunteering their time and expertise and covers how seniors can:
- protect against financial abuse
- spot the signs of financial fraud
- make the most of their money in retirement
Canadians are living longer, healthier lives than ever before. With an average life expectancy of 80 years, the number of seniors is growing rapidly. Unlike previous generations, some of today’s seniors are delaying retirement and working longer. Whether they are about to retire or have already retired, many Canadians are contemplating important questions such as: How can they ensure that their money will last? How should they manage their financial affairs if their physical or cognitive capacity is diminished? The Your Money Seniors program helps to answer these questions.
Your Money Seniors is developed in partnership with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) and seminars are available to seniors’ groups through community organizations or associations or any interested group with ten or more participants. If you would be interested in having a Your Money Seniors seminar, please give us a call at 1-800-263-0231, ext. 260 or fill out the seminar request form and join our mailing list to stay in touch.
